ADDISON CROFTON

'Four Views To Amuse Travellers' September 9th 1868

These four fine minature sketches from our guest book archive (shown here larger than actual size) are entitled, left to right:

'Willapark from the slate quarries'

'The Wellington Headland'

'The silent tower of Bottreaux'

'Boscastle Harbour'

Note the amusing 'Wellington Headland' silhouette.

It isalso interesting to note that above the face in the centre is a very faint inscription that appears to read "This the head of a c". Obviously not in his own handwriting this entry leads us to beleive that Arthur Collins was kind enough to leave us a 'self portrait'. Probably the only image of him we will ever see.
If anyone has more information on the artist we would be most pleased to hear from you.
